Current U15's (10/11 Season)
This band of Vipers first got together in the August/September of 2002 as U7's
A group of scruffy lads assembled on a field ready to be crafted into a lean, mean footballing machine (if only we had known back then - Ed)
Up stepped Manager Supreme, Nigel Cutts who had the task of harnessing this raw talent and cheeky aggression. Armed with his trusty training cones and some muddy bibs (do they ever get washed? - Ed) he set about his task.
Because they got together quite late in the Summer Nigel could not get them into a league before Christmas - but that just gave him even more time to fine tune the boys.
The new 03/04 season started with the guys as U8's but otherwise just as the last one had finished. The boys beat everyone put in front of them, and secured the Winter League title, again undefeated and having only conceded 4 goals with 52 going in the other end (not bad for only 16 games! - Ed)
After Christmas they were let loose on the league, and guess what? - the mini Vipers kicked butt and lifted the title. Even more remarkably they were undefeated and only conceded one goal.
The end of February saw a new Spring league for the Vipers, could they keep this up?.....surely not.........
Guess what?! - yep.....they won this as well (jointly with Maldon Town Pumas) - again undefeated - absolutely unbelievable.
The boys were also invited to be 'Guard of Honour' at Colchester United.
The Summer brought the usual mass of tournaments. However, it was decided to enter only three this year, as the guys had worked so very hard all year.
From the three entered though the Vipers won two!! - the Valley Green 5-a-side tournament (beating Valley Green in the final) and the Sporting 7-a-side tournament (beating Gt Bradfords in the final)
Wow - what a fantastic season. All of the parents are now having extensions built to house all of the silverware. What next for these little hero's during the 04/05 season.
04/05 Season (last updated 19.01.05)
This season we were up with the big boys in Div 1 (tremble, tremble - Ed)
Looking at the fixture list before the first game got underway it looked as though the first third of the season was going to be extremely tough, with all of the best teams lining up to cut the all conquering Vipers down to size.
Unfortunately, Nigel Cutts resigned as the U9's Manager in November '04 and Ian McDonnell took up the challenge.
